Near Shore Fishing Adventures (May thru September)
On the half day and full day near shore fishing trip, we will explore Hatteras Inlet on the hunt for spanish mackerel and bluefish, while looking for cobia, red drum and possibly black drum to sight cast to. In addition, there is a possibility of fishing a nearshore wreck for seas bass, mackerel, barracuda and amberjacks. These trips are typically 4.5 hours for half day and 8-9 hours for full day, and depart at 7:30 am and 1:00 pm, respectively for half days. This type of trip is great for families, families with children or groups wanting to "test the waters" without every loosing sight of land. You never know what you will see on this adventure, from bird and marine life to shallow water ship wrecks.
Cobia Fishing (Seasonal)
Although Cobia can be caught almost year round out of Hatteras, the spring migration of cobias traditionally happen in May and June every year. We will be offering cobia trips during this time of the year. These trips typically produce more chances to catch a cobia on a full day trip, and involve sight casting to these hard fighting fish. We will look for tide lines, bait balls, sea turtles and manta rays as the cobia tend to be near these conditions and creatures. Call Capt. Jeremy to discuss cobia fishing and get your fishing trip on the books soon, as these days will book up fast and these fish are only around for a short peroid of time!
Live Bait King Mackerel Trips (Seasonal)
Starting in October, I will be offering live bait King Mackerel trips. These trips start out by setting gill nets and throwing the cast net to catch menhaden to use for bait. After a short run to the fishing grounds, we deploy the live bait on stand up light tackle. This type of fishing has explosive bites, with big kings skyrocketing on the baits. It is action packed and I will teach the charter how to rig and deploy the baits and be as hands on as possible. These trips are available as long as the mackerel are here.
